Kimiafaam Leading in Health

Kimia Cluzine®

Generic Name: Sulfaquinoxaline 30%

Additional information

Description

Anticoccidial

Composition

Kimia Cluzine® belongs to the sulfonamide group and acts as a PABA antagonist (a folic acid precursor) in coccidia protozoa and bacteria. Since folic acid is essential for the survival and reproduction of these organisms, inhibition of its synthesis disrupts their life cycle and leads to cessation of growth.
Sulfaquinoxaline is particularly effective in inhibiting the second schizont stage in coccidiosis.

Indications

Kimia Cluzine® is used for the treatment of coccidiosis caused by various Eimeria species, including:

  • Eimeria necatrix, maxima, acervulina, mitis, tenella, brunetti, praecox, adenoeides, meleagrimitis

It is also indicated for the treatment of:

  • Salmonellosis caused by Salmonella gallinarum, pullorum, enteritidis, and typhimurium

  • Pasteurellosis (fowl cholera)

  • Infectious coryza caused by Haemophilus paragallinarum

Dosage and Administration

Standard treatment of coccidiosis

50 mg of active sulfaquinoxaline per kg of body weight per day, equivalent to
100 g of Kimia Cluzine® per 100 liters of drinking water for 3 consecutive days.

Note: In infections caused by Eimeria tenella and Eimeria necatrix, increase the dose to 100 g per 50 liters of drinking water.
