Kimia Difloxacin 10%®

Composition

Each milliliter of Kimia Difloxacin® contains 114.6 mg of difloxacin hydrochloride.

Indications

Used for the prevention, control, and treatment of diseases caused by difloxacin-sensitive bacterial pathogens, including colibacillosis, CRD complex, and pasteurellosis.

Dosage and Administration

10 mg of pure difloxacin per kg of live body weight per day (equivalent to 100 mg of Kimia Difloxacin®), or 500 mL of Kimia Difloxacin® per 1,000 liters of drinking water, for 3–5 days, depending on age and body weight.

Note: Dosage and duration of treatment may vary according to the type and severity of the disease and should be determined by a veterinarian.

Contraindications

  • Use of difloxacin is contraindicated in poultry affected by osteoporosis.

  • Contraindicated in laying poultry within 4 weeks prior to the onset of egg production.

Drug Interactions

Concurrent administration with multivalent cations such as calcium, magnesium, and aluminum reduces the absorption of difloxacin.

Withdrawal Period

Discontinue use 1 day prior to slaughter of poultry.

Precautions

  • After opening the bottle, the contents should be used within 60 days.

  • The prepared medicated solution must be used within a maximum of 24 hours.
