Kimia Neo 20-S®

Composition

Each milliliter of Kimia Neo 20-S® contains 200 mg of neomycin sulfate.

Indications

Kimia Neo 20-S® is indicated for the prevention, control, and treatment of diseases caused by neomycin-sensitive bacteria, including blue comb disease in turkeys, bacterial enteritis, and enteritis associated with CRD in poultry.

It is also used for the treatment of white scours in calves, colibacillosis in cattle, sheep, and goats, and salmonellosis in cattle and sheep.

Dosage and Administration

Broiler and Laying Chickens

  • From day 1 to day 14:
    1 liter per 4,000 liters of drinking water

  • From week 3 to week 5:
    1 liter per 3,000 liters of drinking water

  • From 6 weeks of age to the end of the rearing period:
    1 liter per 2,000–2,500 liters of drinking water

Administer for 3–5 days.

Turkeys

  • From day 1 to day 7:
    1 liter per 2,500 liters of drinking water

  • From week 2 to the end of week 8:
    1 liter per 1,500 liters of drinking water

  • From weeks 9 to 26:
    1 liter per 1,200 liters of drinking water

Administer for 3–5 days.

Cattle, Sheep, and Goats

11 mL of solution per 100 kg of body weight
(equivalent to 22 mg of neomycin sulfate per kg of body weight)
administered via drinking water for 3–5 days.

Notes

  • Treatment should be continued for 24–48 hours after clinical signs have resolved (up to a maximum of 14 consecutive days).

  • If clinical signs persist 2–3 days after starting treatment, consult a veterinarian.

Contraindications

  • Contraindicated in cases of renal insufficiency, intestinal obstruction, and hypersensitivity to aminoglycosides.

  • Do not use in dairy cows during lactation.

Withdrawal Period

  • Broiler chickens: 7 days

  • Cattle and goats: 30 days

  • Sheep, laying hens, and turkeys: 14 days

Discontinue use prior to slaughter.
Eggs from treated hens must not be consumed by humans for 14 days after the last administration.

Precautions

The prepared medicated solution must be used within a maximum of 12 hours.
