Composition

Each gram of Kimia Tylosin Phosphate 10® contains 100 mg of tylosin (as phosphate).

Indications

Poultry and Turkeys

Kimia Tylosin Phosphate 10® is indicated for the prevention and treatment of diseases caused by tylosin-sensitive microorganisms, including:

  • Chronic Respiratory Disease (CRD)

  • Infectious synovitis in poultry and turkeys

  • Infectious sinusitis in turkeys

  • Spirochetosis in poultry

It is also used for the prevention and treatment of necrotic enteritis caused by Clostridium perfringens, body weight gain, and improvement of feed conversion ratio (FCR).

Cattle

Kimia Tylosin Phosphate 10® is recommended for the prevention of liver abscesses caused by Fusobacterium necrophorum and Actinomyces pyogenes in feedlot calves.

Dosage and Administration

Poultry and Turkeys

  • 127 mg of tylosin per kg of body weight per day, equivalent to
    10 kg of Tylosin Phosphate 10% per ton of feed

    • During the first 5 days of life, then

    • Repeat at 3–4 weeks of age

      • 2 days for prevention

      • 3–7 days for treatment of CRD, infectious synovitis, and infectious sinusitis

  • 10–20 mg of tylosin per kg of body weight per day, equivalent to
    875–1,750 g of Tylosin Phosphate 10% per ton of feed for 7 days
    for the prevention and treatment of necrotic enteritis

Calves

  • 80–100 g of Tylosin Phosphate 10% per daily ration, or

  • 0.6–0.9 g of Tylosin Phosphate 10% per head per day

Note: Dosage and duration of use should be determined by a veterinarian.

Contraindications

  • Contraindicated in laying poultry during the laying period when eggs are intended for human consumption.

  • Contraindicated in lactating animals producing milk for human consumption.

  • Feed containing tylosin may be fatal to horses and other equids.

Drug Interactions

  • Concurrent use with other macrolides and lincosamides may cause drug interactions.

  • Avoid use in diets containing more than 2% bentonite.

  • Tylosin is compatible with tetracyclines, sulfonamides, and spectinomycin.

Withdrawal Period

  • Poultry and turkeys: 5 days

  • Calves: None

Precautions

  • For uniform distribution, first mix the required amount of premix with 50 kg of supplement or feed, then add to the final feed and mix thoroughly.

  • After opening, use the product within 2 months.

  • Prepared medicated feed should be used within 24 hours.

Storage Conditions

Store in a dry place, at a temperature below 25 °C, protected from light and moisture.
